Our Mission
In 2005, DeviceAtlas was established as part of dotMobi group; Google, Ericsson, Hutchison 3, Nokia, GSMA, Samsung Electronics, Telefónica Móviles, Syniverse, Orascom Telecom, Microsoft, Vodafone, Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM), Visa, and T-Mobile. They had one combined goal: to drive web usage on mobile devices across the globe.
Back then, the mobile web ecosystem was dramatically different. iPhones still didn’t exist and browsing on phones was a slow, frustrating experience. In 2008, DeviceAtlas was launched as a device intelligence solution to enable web developers to create better content for mobile devices. Instead of open-source and homegrown solutions, DeviceAtlas became the reliable, enterprise-grade solution of choice.
In 2010, as mobile web adoption accelerated globally, DeviceAtlas joined Afilias Inc, the world’s leading provider of Internet infrastructure services. By joining forces, the companies became the flagship product of its mobile and web technology division, Afilias Technology Limited.
Since then, DeviceAtlas has transformed into the world's authoritative source for device data through a combination of award-winning patented technology, high-performing solutions, and customer satisfaction. Today, leading players like Verizon Media, Microsoft Advertising, IBM, Adobe, and Netflix, all rely on DeviceAtlas’ rich, accurate device intelligence.

DeviceAtlas partners with the GSMA to provide the Mobile Network Operator ecosystem with detailed device data indexed by TAC (Type Allocation Code) in the Device Map offering.
Device Map is updated on a daily basis to provide coverage of the latest device releases, and is imported into BI platforms to enrich analytics.
We partner with Digital Element to offer mobile carrier and connection type databases to DeviceAtlas customers.
Our customers can identify country location, mobile carrier and connection type (WIFI or cellular) of web visitors.
DeviceAtlas partners with IDC to provide pricing information about connected devices. Knowing the monetary value of a device is powerful, particularly in ad targeting, insurance premium assessment, and product recommendations.
The worldwide average selling price data point is provided by IDC as part of the results in the DeviceAtlas device identification response.
DeviceAtlas partners with HAProxy to bring device awareness to the load balancing layer.
HAProxy users can access rich device data for the entire server configuration, rather than just at application level, making the web architecture much more flexible.
Developed in collaboration with NGINX Inc, the DeviceAtlas NGINX module brings real-time device detection to customers running high-performance NGINX Web servers.
Device awareness at server level provides highly-optimized performance and reduces configuration complexity.
Varnish Software embed device awareness from DeviceAtlas into the Varnish Cache Web application accelerator.
Our partnership allows Varnish to provide a high-performance device detection module as part of its software, significantly strengthening implementations of Varnish Cache for a post-desktop world.
DeviceAtlas maintains associate membership of the GSMA to stay ahead of developments in the mobile network operator ecosystem, and contributes to their joint offering Device Map.
